Nuggets defeat Raptors in overtime

Canadian Jamal Murray scored five points in the final five minutes of play and the Denver Nuggets came from behind to beat the Toronto Raptors 127-125 on Monday.

Murray finished the game with 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Nikola Jokic led the way with 40 points, making 10 steals. The Nuggets rallied from a 15-point deficit to win. Aaron Gordon narrowly missed a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

RJ Barrett attempted a three-pointer in the final seconds that would have given the Raptors the win, but the ball bounced off the rim. He finished with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in his first game of the season back from a shoulder injury.

Barnes needed help returning to the bench with 24 seconds left in the fourth quarter after taking an elbow to the right eye. He did not return to the game.

Barnes was targeted in that game. He was also the victim of a flagrant foul by Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook early in the fourth quarter. The two men got into a fight after the play, having to be separated by teammates, coaches and officials.

Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl both had double-doubles for the Raptors. Poeltl had 16 points and 19 rebounds, while Barnes missed the triple-double by an assist with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
